Everglades Area Tours is a family owned business that has been providing intimate, Guided Boating, Kayaking and Walking Eco Tours since the late 1990’s. All guides are full-time, formally trained Florida Master Naturalists and are THE most experienced in the area. Our tours and operations encourage stewardship of Florida's natural resources and, as important, awareness of its history and cultural heritage. We are proud to one of only eight firms certified by the Florida Society for Ethical Ecotourism and the only one operating directly in Everglades National Park. We offer guided eco-educational experiences in Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve, the 10,000 Islands National Wildlife Refuge and Rookery Bay National Estuary and are the only tour provider to do so.
Our tours are all education based and we feel that intimacy and small group size is important to education. As such, we limit most of our 20 different experiences to just six guests. Reservations are important.

No loud, intrusive airboats are used. They are not allowed in Everglades National Park.

With two locations, we are located Marco Island and Everglades City (Chokoloskee). Located just 10 minutes from the beaches of Marco Island; 35 minutes from Naples, one and a half hours from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Myers & two hours from West Palm Beach, we are a great destination for a day trip. Combine tours in a single day or over several days to enjoy the small town ambience of our waterside community. Our most popular eco-adventure, the Boat Assisted Kayak ECO Tour combines the best of a boat tour, a kayak tour and a walking tour in a single great experience. The tour begins in a very comfortable transport boat that brings you into the Park's core and very near to the wildlife. We then "slow" down the tour using stable, very comfortable kayaks to get you close to the wildlife. They are silent and unobtrusive for the wildlife and allow you to get closer than by any other means. Finally, we explore the tidal zone of a remote island beach. A beach few can ever get to. Expect to see some magnificent shells here! Imagine paddling next to manatees and dolphins. No previous paddling experience is required, we do not paddle far and we have single as well as two-person kayaks. This tour truly is one of the best ways to experience Everglades National Park.
